My 2 minute intro to Horror film

It starts off with news reports from radio stations and newspapers about a number of killings. This gives the audience clues to what the film might be about. There are a few pictures of someone who might be the main character because he is the only person that we the most of. Everyone else's pictures are quite small and his looks likes its on the front page probably because he is the one that is being described as the only survivor. The word 'Murder' is made to stand out by making it very big and bold which could suggests that there might be a murder mystery within the film. This is an interesting way to introducing characters and opening of a film. It is not what you would expect to see at the beginning of a horror film, but it still manages to fit it because it immediatley grabs your attention. The music starts off with the percussion and brass instruments sounding like a heartbeat or a pulse beating fast and is playing quietly so we can hear the narrator. Then the first shot of film we see is an establishing shot and it is at a hospital. This is common in most horror films to have an establishing shot which doesn't give much detail because it makes the audience want to find out what is going on. Then after there is a push in shot where we see a patient lying in a hospital bed. Then it immediately cuts to a mine where we see that character that was pictures at the beginning. It then cuts back and forth with the mine and the hospital. There is a contrast because in the hospital there are high angle shots and close ups which gives it mystery and a voyeuristic feel to it whereas in the mine there are loads of low angle shots showing the miners.
