Horror genre opening titles

In movie opening there it always starts off with the production and distribution logos. Usually the opening shot of films will start with an establishing shot or a blank screen with titles. An example where an establishing shot is used for the opening is in the film Sorority Row: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXhea0Y1pQ8 The film starts with an establishing shot of a house and the camera does a push in so it looks like we are walking towards the house. An example where a blank screen with titles is used for the opening is in the film The Strangers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLDdPW5yfR4 This style of oepening sequences is a good way build up tension and suspense and is also a good way of giving away the genre of the film.
The opening of Scream is a great example www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFCStOMqpfk The titles of the movie appears in blood red and it comes on as being slashed by a knife and this suggests it is a slasher film. We have considered using the font colour red for our film as our film is also a slasher film and it suggest blood. In most slasher films they tend to clearly point out what the villain is at the beginning with a hint of some kind. In Scream they used a phone call as the hint. In My Bloddy Valentine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZxL9rM9isI they used miners and the words that revolve around mining and the word mine is shown several to suggest who the villain is. This is also another film that uses red as the colour of the font.
Also in slasher films they open up by showing the stereotypes such as the the arrogant male or the busty blonde. An example of this is shown in the film Scream.
